My wife and I recently moved out of West Chester and we genuinely miss Gemelli more than any other West Chester spot (and that's saying something, considering it's also the home of Market Street Grill and Dia Doce!). It's so wonderfully decorated, clean, inviting (so many froyo shops, etc are neon green and pink and tacky - this place is refined) and the gelato is among the best in the Philadelphia area. Go here. Do it.

Well hello, Gemelli. You walk into this place and it looks like a tall drink of water--delicious treats and lots of gorgeously styled nooks and crannies into which you can settle with your dessert and just go to town. As far as the gelato goes, it's pretty good. A lot of the flavors are too sweet for my taste, but there are quite a few stand outs. Their fruit flavors are especially delicious. If you ever see the pear flavor, buy it all immediately (just save a little for me!) They also recently sold lavender, which was so refreshing and lovely. I do find quite a few flavors that I don't like, but the staff really encourages you to try any and everything so you never feel guilty about changing your mind. CONCLUSION: where the gelato is good and the service is better quality: Really good, but a big mix of tastes--you may have to try a few before you find your gelato match! price: gelato aint never been cheap, honey.

Amazing!!! You have to check this place out! The service is phenomenal, they give you the background of how their gelato flavors come to life... Everything is organic, with local seasonal flavors. Plus they offer multiple samples! I had the strawberry lemonade gelato, very light and refreshing. You can taste the fresh strawberries. My boyfriend had the caramel sea salt gelato... OMG... Incredible! You have to try it! The atmosphere is so cute and clean with multiple seating and a great place to enjoy your sweet treat!

I am very critical of establishments that focus on desserts. How do you make a lasting impression on your customers and go above the "standard" of a simple scoop of ice cream or gelato? Well, Vincenzo has done it. I'm from southern California where these places are a dime a dozen, and I am in love with what he has created. The location is masterfully decorated. It's clean. The staff is always friendly. You can try any flavor without a sigh or a grumble from the staff. They urge you to try what you want so that you return! Who would have guessed this is an effective strategy!?!? Seems like a no-brainer, but I've been to many locations where you just feel bad trying more than one or two flavors (frozen yogurt joints, I'm especially looking at you.) Vincenzo is often in the back working on his gelato, and we've seen him come out a few times to see how the operations are going. My girlfriend even stopped him last time to give positive feedback and he seemed genuinely grateful. You just feel happy walking in. We've been to this location at least ten times since it opened, and we are constantly fighting the urge to visit. The lattes are fantastic, and I am going to replace my usual Lavazza Super Crema home order with the brand they use. This place isn't cheap, but it is a superior product. West Chester boasts these types of establishments, so if you're surprised I don't know what to tell you. Few of the restaurants in West Chester, however, deserve the praise Vincenzo does. Bravo.

Gemelli is my new favorite dessert spot in West Chester, by far! The gelato is to die for. The atmosphere is clean, sophisticated, and fun. The staff is friendly and you can sample as much as you'd like! Did I mention they have coffee, too? And cookies. Everything is fresh and just wonderful. If you're looking for a new spot to grab dessert in town, I'd swing by Gemelli.

The gelato was great and the dessert choices were very good. The only con is the portions were meals to themselves. You definitely have to share. But it was great stop after dinner.

So good! I had the Coppa Marscapone and a cappuccino. My daughter got the gelato and a hot chocolate...she loved both of them. This is a casual little place perfect for getting a little something sweet. And with a parking garage right around the corner (.75 for 30 mins), it's easy to get to.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. An amazing treat! It's pricey but OF COURSE it's pricey EVERYTHING is organic and homemade so it will definitely just be a treat for me on occasion but I will look forward to it. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I have nothing negative to say about Gemelli.

Best place to go for a treat in town. Great flavors! I like how you can get two flavors with a small and they let you sample if you are unsure if what to get. My favorite flavor so far is the caramel.

This place is AMAZING!! Absolutely phenomenal experiences every single time I've been there. Everyone who works there has been so welcoming and lovely. I never leave without a smile on my face and a fun convo. The gelato is simply delicious. I ALWAYS get the pistachio but I've taken a bunch of people there who are more adventurous than I, and everyone has been consistently thrilled with their choices. They gelatos are so flavorful and the staff is always asking if you'd like to try some before ordering. Bonus: they're open til 11 on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can swing by after a trendy dinner out in WC. Just go!

This place is amazing! I've been to Italy 3 times and one of the best experiences is eating Italian gelato. Gemelli brings back all of those memories. The gelato is outstanding. They have a huge variety of flavors that I guarantee you will love. Oh, and the service was very friendly and welcoming. A huge bonus. Will be back (probably quite often) !!!!

I've never had Gelato but my very Italian-food-loving husband loves it! We were walking through West Chester and saw a new Gelato place and decided to try it. We actually got to meet the owners (one of the things I love about the local places in West Chester) and he let me try samples of the product! I can't believe I've been missing out (unfortunately now my husband gets to use his "I told ya so" voice). I loved the look and feel of the place and the Gelato! Can't say enough but I'm not sure if I can ever eat anything else again! We will certainly going back again and again!

SOOO happy this place decided to open up! West Chester needed an excellent gelato cafe. My boyfriend and I came in here for some gelato and it was excellent. Tastes fresh and the owner is super nice as well. Totally recommend if you are in the mood for a nice gelato.

this place is so nice! as soon as i entered i felt so cozy and warm. absolutely love the decor, very classy! and lets talk about the gelatos....it is superb! you can feel the difference between any other store gelato and this one...it reminds me of my trip to italy! i spoke to the chef too,he is a nice and very diligent guy! what can i say, but you will see me there a lot this summer!

This is the real thing. We stopped in here a second time while visiting family because it was so good. My partner (who is Italian) talked with the owner because it is so rare to get authentic gelato in the US & it turns out the owner came here from Italy. The flavor options are all excellent. I tried the cherry, which I loved, the raspberry/goat cheese was an interesting combo & very good and not quite as sweet. Non-dairy options are just as good & flavorful as those with dairy.....which is not usually the case. The Tiramisu, though pre-made (if you eat in-store you can get the one in a glass jar, otherwise in plastic cups to-go), was also very good.

Such a great addition to the Borough! Their Gelato is to DIE for!! The Venezuelan Chocolate was pure heaven!! I haven't had a flavor that I have not liked! But that Venezuelan Chocolate!!! Thank you!

I crave this gelato, and I wouldn't even consider myself a "sweets person". This gelato is obviously made with love. The ingredients are so fresh that they awaken the palate. My favorite is the local goat cheese gelato with raspberry. It is like no other dessert I've had- tangy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Perfect for the cheese lover in search of dessert. I also love the espresso gelato made with La Columbe espresso- it is rich and delicious. Lastly, the way Gemelli focuses on seasonal ingredients is really nice. We had a local apple sorbet in the fall that was so crisp and refreshing- it was like fall in a cup. This place is a wonderful addition to West Chester!

I went here last night for the first time since it opened. The place looked so nice! I loved the whole ambiance. I got to taste test whatever as many flavors as I wanted and loved this chocolate hazelnut flavor. It was creamy and delicious! I will definitely be returning for more!

Great new place just opened in Boro of WC. Had samples today of delicious freshly made Gelato. They use wholesome, local, organic products to include organic milk & cream from Lancaster County. Happy to see such a 1st Class operation. We wish them much Success.

Cute and yummy place! Very big space and the gelato was delcious- I had the cannoli and mixed it with a chocolate hazelnut flavor. I took my mom and sister who were up for a visit and we were able to sit down in comfy chairs and talk and it wasn't loud like kiwi around the corner. Staff was very friendly and let us try samples and recommended a few flavors themselves. Everything is local and fresh which I love! I highly recommend this place, especially after a yummy dinner in town

The best gelato I've had this side of the Atlantic besides maybe capo giro in center city. They are true crafters. Great coffee as well. And I love the interior. Get the mascarpone or sea salt caramel that is made with pink Himalayan sea salt.

Fabulous looking place ... And the Italian Espresso gelato was wonderful.... Creamy and bright flavor... Wish it was closer to home! Would love to try some of their coffees and deserts and spend some time here.

Bad gelato, on top of bad, dishonest service I watch my calorie intake and if I am going to indulge, it has to be a fine dessert such as a gelato. Skip this place, it's not worth the calories; you will be more satisfied and better served at the yogurt place around the corner that sells by weight. My wife, daughters, and myself got different flavors and all of them had a chemically, powdered milk-like aftertaste. Lately I've been into caramel sea-salt and this place does not even get close, the taste was of chewy Kraft caramel candy. Tasted my daughter's chocolate hazelnut and it had chunks of hard frozen ice cream - it is supposed to be creamy. Service was bad, borderline dishonest. Ordered 4 gelatos, and was billed for 5. When the attendant could not figure out how to refund the extra gelato the owner or manager could not process the refund either. What's worse, he told me they'd been having issues with their machine all day, said the transaction never went through, and asked me to pay in cash instead. The receipt included an approval number but he insisted that did not mean anything. In less than 20 seconds I accessed my checking account via my iPhone app and was able to show him the charge. I said they could refund in cash, but the guy said he could not do that either, incredible! Being a new place I would have overlooked the overcharge itself as inexperience of the attendant, but bad gelato, on top of dishonest service is a no-no. I am staying away from this place.

I went here yesterday for the first time and it's really cute inside!! I had the macchiato espresso which was really good and the chocolate cake gelato which was equally as good!! Very authentic Italian gelato. Kind of expensive but worth trying out

In a single word Fantastic... In two magnificently delicious. I had the pistachio gelato and it was absolutely divine. As an architect the interior design of the space was unique and nothing like any gelato stop I've seen.

I rarely comment on places on yelp, but this place is very much so deserving of a wonderful review. The owners are both wonderful people and the gelato and baked goods are fantastic. The semi freddo and tiramisu are like nothing I have ever tasted. Every time I go in I have to have one to taste and one to save for later. The gelato flavors are very unique and all very different. None of the flavors will disappoint and samples are offered to test anything that seems intriguing. The place looks wonderful and is very inviting-it offers an assortment of seating and a very pleasant ambiance. I will be frequenting this spot for sure.

Very friendly staff and owner. My daughter and I visited on Friday night. They had many gelato flavors to chose from but we opted for the baked desserts and a mascarpone custard. They were delicious and beautifully presented. My daughter could not finish her custard and they were so nice to transfer to a take home container. My only complaint is small but I feel important....have hot tea. They have a great selection of coffee drinks which is obviously italian and fits with the theme of a gelato restaurant but having just a few teas on hand would be so nice. I'd love to return and enjoy a delicious dessert but I like mine with tea. I will be back though and hope they can offer that. So happy to have a sit down dessert place in town...about time!

I studied abroad in Italy and the one thing I missed most... the gelato! Gemelli brings a taste of Italy right in West Chester- it is incredible! My husband and I both got Mediums- (servings were very generous) and were able to pick three flavors each. Each flavor was fantastic! This is an awesome place to relax and enjoy something sweet at!

Best gelato E-V-E-R!...My family is addicted to mascarpone & Nutella...We even took the gelato making class as a family (well...you end up with 2 pints of gelato per person) which was interesting and fun.

2 girlfriends and I stopped by last night and were very pleasantly surprised! The girls behind the counter were very nice, and knowledgeable about all the delectable yumminess that they offered. I had a delicious Carmel hot chocolate and a Nutella custard thingy (it had some Italian name I forget). My girlfriends got a hot chocolate and warm slice of apple pie with a scoop of gelato. It was perfect on a cold February night! Can't wait to bring my kids!

Adore! Gemelli is the cutest + coziest little shop, perfect for loading up on gelato and catching up with friends!

Today I visited Gemelli for the first time. I am a bit disappointed as they use pre-packaged espresso pods which takes away from the Italian cafè experience for which the rest of Gemelli strives. I ordered a mocha and the barista asked the owner how to make it. He told her to use hot chocolate and put espresso in it. The espresso, while La Colombe, was from a pre-packaged pod. The mocha tastees mostly hot chocolate and cost me six dollars and change. Overall, Gemelli is a great addition to downtown West Chester as far as a desert shop goes, but coffee aficionados should head down to Pour Richard's in Devon.
